Extended Product Description

Handcrafted to actually soothe dryness by actually helping hydrate rather then just band-aid dryness plus, it helps protect skin from the elements. Ahhhh!

Hand is 2 oz. of the perfect combination of plant oils and butter for the best hydration possible in a hand moisturizer. We don't use the term Lotion because it means a water/oil mixture and we never use water. Thus, you will only need a tiny bit. Really.

A favorite way to apply this in the winter (for those in cold climates) is to apply a dab of Hand Relief then put gloves on. When you arrive at your destination, hands are soft and hydrated. Works wonderfully to soften cuticles, also.
Your current hand cream will be so sad. Your hands, so happy.

Please Note: If you find Hand a tad gritty, it is because of the raw shea butter and coconut oil which are solid at room temperature. Most likely, Hand melted along the way and as it came back up to room temp, it solidified. This in no way affects the purity of the product. In fact, it is yet another way to know that we use pure ingredients and that our products are void of fillers and thickeners.

raw shea butter

Shea butter comes from the nuts of the shea tree (also known as the karite tree) which grows wild in Central and Western Africa, where it has been used as skin care for centuries because of it’s healing properties. Shea Butter absorbs quickly & is great for stretch marks, dry skin, cracked heels and more. It has also been clinically proven to have anti-aging properties, protection against inflammation and rapid healing for burns to minimize scarring. This nut is high in vitamins A and E and minerals. If you have a small cut or burn, immediately apply soothing shea butter to it. Shea butter also helps alleviate the pain from sunburns. For those with dry skin, raw shea butter may be the most naturally moisturizing product you will ever use. In addition, Shea Butter has natural sun-protection properties and anti-inflammatory agents. Regular users of pure, unrefined Shea Butter notice softer, smoother, healthier skin. Shea Butter has also been shown to help with skin conditions and irritations, skin allergies, fungal infections, blemishes, wrinkles, scars, scrapes, and more. The Shea Butter we use is produced by fair trade practices [a co-op of hardworking women] and organic standards.

sweet almond oil

People suffering from skin irritations can use Sweet Almond oil topically to reduce inflammation, redness, and itching which makes it a wonderful ingredient to reduce puffiness under eyes. A study conducted by Hamdard University in New Delhi, India, and published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology concludes that application of this oil on the skin not only protects the skin from harmful UV rays but also slows down the aging process. It's a great emollient, is absorbent and rich in vitamin E. It also contains magnesium, calcium, and vitamin D which packs it full of nutrients for our Renew lip & eye cream.

avocado oil

While avocado oil is considered a veggie oil, it is actually a fruit which yields a rich deep penetrating oil, full of vitamins A,D, and E, lecithin and potassium. It is high in sterolins, which are said to reduce age spots, help heal sun damage and scars. This natural oil penetrates the deep layers of skin allowing it to transport nutrients to the dermis for increased effectiveness. Because avocado oil has amazing emollient properties, it is ideal for mature skin while also relieving dryness and itching associated with psoriasis, eczema or other skin irritations.

In 2001, a study published in Dermatologyprovided evidence that avocado oil could be a long-term topical therapy for psoriasis. Plus, France has given avocado oil Rx status because of it's ability to counter the negative affects of arthritis. Now, this was when taken internally but remember, your skin absorbs what is put on it. Woohoo!

extra virgin olive oil

We all know that Olive oil is healthy to eat but do you know how nourishing it is on your skin? It is closer in chemical structure to Sebum, the skin’s natural oil, than any other plant oil. It has regenerative power that can stimulate the healing process. Because of Squalene in Olive oil, it has shown to increase elasticity of skin thus preventing sagging and leaving skin firmly toned with a youthful glow.

Olive oil can be used to soothe and heal skin irritations. Because it is rich in healthy fats and phenolic antioxidant vitamin E along with squalene and oleic acidas, Olive oil can help in removing free radicals as well as repair the damage done by exposure to sun. The antioxidants present in olive oil, along with the vitamin E, help in preventing cell degeneration in your skin, thus helping to prevent premature aging.

coconut oil

Did you know that this amazing oil has antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-fungal & antibacterial properties? These properties form a barrier on the skin to ward off infection which reduces symptoms associated with skin irritations. By supporting the natural chemical balance of skin it causes the skin to soften, helps relieve dryness & flaking, prevents wrinkles & age spots. Coconut oil provides protection from damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation from the sun. When used on the scalp, it helps to heal dry flaky scalp. We always use organic coconut oil in our products.

grapefruit seed oil

Not to be confused with GSE or Grapefruit Seed Extract, this is a rare oil pressed from the seeds of the grapefruit and boy, is it packed with nutrition. Grapefruit seed oil has powerful antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties. It has been shown to help regenerate skin cells and aids in removing dead skin cells from pores yet in the most gentle and natural way. As it hydrates, it helps to reduce wrinkles, dryness and improves skin elasticity. With high levels of Vitamin C, GSO is a strong antiseptic and has been tested to help combat large pores, dark spots and other skin blemishes.

grapefruit essential oil

Grapefruit can protect skin from UV damage. Since most visible signs of skin aging are the direct result of sun damage, this is one more layer of defense to add to your skin-care regimen. Grapefruit is rich in anti oxidants. Grapefruit is known to be a purifier of congested, oily and acne prone skin by cleaning out dirt, oil, & dead skin cells from pores while also having anti-bacterial properties to help combat problematic bacteria on the skin which causes the skin to be irritated. It also helps to keep natural ingredients fresh & helps slow oxidation of oils.

meadowfoam oil

Cold-pressed virgin meadowfoam oil is wonderfully emollient and high in vitamin E. It helps to retain moisture on the skin while adding a protective barrier to the outer layer of skin. It's anti-oxidant properties help to repair sun damage, firm the skin and reduce inflammation. This is great news for those with inflammation in the form of acne, eczema or other skin irritations. Meadowfoam is a renewable crop and is native to northern California, southern Oregon, Vancouver Island, and British Columbia. Plus, it requires minimal (if any) pesticides to grow which makes it great for the environment. In addition to all these benefits, meadowfoam seed oil is a highly stable oil which helps to make other ingredients stable. Since we never add fillers, we get excited about using natural ingredients that benefit the skin while helping the product stay fresh naturally! Yippee!

moringa seed oil

We are so excited to offer moringa seed oil for it’s antibacterial, antioxidant, nourishing and anti-aging properties. The nutrients in moringa seed oil helps slow the skin aging process, lightens skin tone while nourishing and protecting the skin from free radical damage. This quick absorbing seed oil has 90 nutrients, 18 essential amino acids, chlorophylls, omega-3 fatty acids and anti-inflammatory properties.

lavender essential oil

Essential oils like lavender nourish and soothe the skin. Lavender Oil produces a calming effect, aids in regenerating the skin, & can minimize scar tissue. Lavender reduces inflammation, has antibacterial properties & enhances blood circulation. It also adds a beautiful scent that is such a treat when applied, while being very subtle. Even those who are sensitive to smells will enjoy Lavender!

There you go. That's the list. The entire list and nothing but the list.
