Where to begin

Hello. I'm Molly and I have had so much fun hand-picking the freshest fruit and veggie oils, butters, and extracts so you can get the skin you've always wanted. It's like a farmers market in a bottle.

May I show you what makes us unique from anything you've tried? It will be worth it!

What makes us different?

Great question.

We use the freshest plant oils, butter, and honey. That's it!

You will never find water or other fillers in our products. Learn why we NEVER add water under WATER IN SKIN CARE HERE .

Our ingredients are raw, expeller pressed, virgin or filter refined never solvent refined (think ingredients that dissolve), grown using organic practices when possible (ie. most of the time).

While the term "fair trade" has lots of political angles and at high market prices, we make sure that the ingredients we use come from farmers being paid a fair wage. That is so important for us.

Our ingredients make us proud to be in this business. It's what sets us apart from others and we promise our message of safe and healthy ingredients will ALWAYS align with our ingredient lists.

Skin Type?

It doesn't matter what type of skin you have!

Each one of our products work wonderfullywith dry, oily, or combination skin. Because we don't use harsh ingredients that strip the skin, the naturally-occurring oils on your skin remain and your oil levels will begin to balance out. If you have oily skin, you will find your skin to be less oily. If you have dry skin, that is a thing of the past.

Plus, our products natually help to maintain an acidic pH (alkaline inside your body, acidic on your skin) which maintains a protective layer on your skin.

Removing harmful chemicals from your skin care is the first step in true healing. Our products can help relieve irritation but if you continue using products that contain irritants, inflammation continues and the skin cannot clear up.

By eliminating the ingredients that cause flare-ups, helps you get the skin you've always wanted. Woohoo!

Most cleansers strip the skin of important naturally occurring oils (called sebum) which leaves the skin dry and open to inflammation. Almost all of them contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), a caustic foaming agent linked to cancer, neurotoxicity, organ toxicity, skin irritation and endocrine disruption.

While our non-SLS cleanser, CLEAN and CLEANbaby are the most gentle soapy cleanser you can find, I recommend them only for certain areas ;). Because hardly any of us get dirty enough on a daily basis for a soapy cleanser, the torso, legs, arms, and face should be cleansed with a hard-working, bacteria-fighting product like RELIEF or NOURISH. If you struggle with eczema, RELIEF is going to be your best companion. You can use RELIEF and NOURISH as a cleanser (takes off makeup, too) and a moisturizer (more about that below).

Most skin care products are filled with lots of cheap ingredients that don't benefit your skin.

Did you know that many irritated skin remedies contain toxic chemicals? Many products are merely band-aids for irritation rather than getting the healing process going.

You shouldn’t have to search the internet for hours to find out whether a product is healthy for you or your family. Many companies advertise their products are made with, for instance "cucumber seed extract." While it may contain cucumber seed extract, the other ingredients are much less recognizible and rather scientific. These claims are made to distract buyers into believing the bottle is filled with naturals ingredients while it is actually filled with cheap toxic fillers. Be a label reader. Learn to know what to look for so you don't pay for cheap fillers that are harmful with the hope that they will do the job.

We list ingredients on the label, in plain English (and they are all recognizable). Our message will ALWAYS align with our ingredients. We are proud of every one of our ingredients!

Laundry detergents and fabric softeners can be the most harmful products in your home.

These products are created to coat the fibers of your fabric which means your skin is in direct contact with these toxins night and day; clothes during the day and bed linens during the night. While RELIEF helps soothe irritated skin, if the irritants are still coming in contact with your skin, irritation will continue. By removing these toxins from fabrics, your skin is truly allowed to heal. (When using a healthy laundry soap, you may need to wash it multiple times to get the residue that causes irritation completely out of your clothes, towels and bed linens.)

Currently, manufacturers of laundry products are not required to list their ingredients on the box thus, you never really know what ingredients are in them. Many of them say "natural", "dye-free", "for sensitive skin" yet they still contain toxins like sodium Lauryl sulfate, brighteners, phosphates and a host of other toxins. It really is hard to trust companies these days. If they had truly healthy ingredients, it seems to me that they would preach it loud a proud in this day and age. Right?

While removing toxins from your home and making healthier choices in products that affect the skin is beneficial, using a moisturizer that soothes and helps heal is essential for complete relief. That is why we have formulated these products and can't wait to show them to you.

When you remove all the fillers (water, petroleum ingredients) and other toxins (alcohols, perservatives, perfumes, emulsifying waxes, etc.) and replace them with healthy, active, beneficial ingredients your skin is able to go about the work of healing itself.

Think about the process of detoxification. It's about cleansing, resting, and nourishing the body from the inside out. Detoxing allows the body to eliminate waste and toxins while helping to improve our health as it removes harmful substances we inhale, ingest and are exposed to every day. An accumulation of toxins creates obstacles in the healing process.

You can't detox your body while eating a diet of greasy burgers and fries, right?

The same is true for skin. When more than 2/3 of most other skin care products contain junk food-type ingredients, your skin must spend much of it's energy cleaning out the junk which leaves little energy for cleansing, healing or repairing skin.

We have been programmed to think that oils are the cause clogged pores. It's a common misconception.

Natural plant oils do not clog pores. Mineral oils and hydrogenated oils are the culprits of giving oils a bad rap. Mineral oil (also known as Vaseline and baby oil) is a by-product of the distillation of petroleum industry and other petroleum-based products from crude oil. These ingredients act like a raincoat on your skin.

It's essential for skin to be able to breathe. Hydrogenated oils are especially harmful when consumed and your body does absorb what is put on it. Non-GMO, non-hydrogenated, and minimally processed plant oils are the best for healing, nourishing, and hydrating the skin. So, you don't have to fear the right kind of healthy oils. They don't deserve it.

RELIEF is both a body wash + hydration formulated to soothe blemish prone or irritated skin (especially eczema or acne).

When you feed your body superfood rather than processed food, your body gets nourished and you feel good, right? Your skin is the same way.

We discovered this after we saw a pattern from the comments our customers leaving. After research and our own experiments, we realized that if you feed your skin ONLY healthy beneficial ingredients, your skin will heal itself. We couldn't be more excited about it.

Some of the superfood ingredients we use in RELIEF are 2 different kinds of grapefruit oils which act like a roto-rooter to help unclog pores, extra virgin coconut oil (loaded with extra nutrients) to combat problematic bacteria, and avocado oil for deep penetrating nourishment. The chia seed oil in RELIEF delivers amazing omegas to perfectly nourish irritated skin along with some other. And don't think we are the only people calling them 'superfoods.' All of the above ingredients have been deemed a "superfood" because of their dense nutrition and nourishing properties.

Most soaps strip the skin of important oils leaving the skin dry and open to irritation. However, there are certain areas, that at times, need to be cleaned with a good safe soapy soap, for which we offer CLEAN {think: pits and privates}.

The rest of the body should be hydrated with a hard-working, bacteria-fighting, hydration for skin, like RELIEF. Have you heard of oils as cleansers? That's the idea. To learn about that under OIL CLEANSING METHOD here .

  • HARD-WORKING... RELIEF serves multiple purposes: cleanser + moisturizer in one.
  • BACTERIA-FIGHTING... We had NOURISH & RELIEF tested in a lab and it consumed the yeast and bacteria that was introduced to it. Thus, the bacteria-fighting properties help kill problematic bacteria which can lead to irritation and breakouts.

  1. BODY CLEANSER FOR ACNE, ECZEMA, AND OTHER SKIN IRRITATIONS (Some areas of the body need a soapy cleanser but not the torso, legs, arms, and face on a daily basis.)

Because RELIEF has amazing pore cleansing and bacteria-fighting properties, it works wonderfully as a moisturizer for body and face while helping soothe irritation. Rather than using harsh cleansers or toxic products, use RELIEF to refresh skin while blasting problematic bacteria that causes acne and irritation on your skin.

Warm wet skin opens pores and allows for swift cleansing. Simply massage a small amount of RELIEF into warm wet skin, and rinse (although you will still feel it on the skin, which is good). Reapply after "cleansing" to continue the protection, soothing, and hydrating process that has begun. Remember, you only need a tiny amount as a little goes a long way because we don’t use fillers that dilute the product. Although using too much will in no way harm your skin, on the contrary.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have preteens struggling with ECZEMA, we recommend using RELIEF first, as often times that alone can help reduce inflammation and decongest the skin to bring relief. SPOT is not recommended for infants. For little ones, NOURISHbaby or NOURISH (same formula) is best for their little bodies. Simply feeding their skin ONLY nourishing ingredients will do the trick.

HINT: It's all about the ingredients.

THE KIND OF ingredients we use

We use the freshest plant oils, butter, and honey. That's it!

You will never find water or other fillers in our products. Learn why we NEVER add water under WATER IN SKIN CARE HERE.

Our ingredients are raw, expeller pressed, virgin or filter refined (never solvent refined - think ingredients that dissolve), grown using organic practices when possible (ie. most of the time).

While the term "fair trade" has lots of political angles and at high market prices, we make sure that the ingredients we use come from farmers being paid a fair wage.

Our ingredients make us proud to be in this business. It's what sets us apart (far apart) from others and we promise our message of safe and healthy ingredients will ALWAYS align with our ingredient lists.

The undesirable ingredients are found in the fine print. You won't find that here.

We are proud to tell you about our COMPLETE ingredient list. EVERY. TIME.

It's on each product page but below you will find a complete listing of EVERY ingredient we use.

"ORGANIC" and "NATURAL" is the new Black. It's everywhere.

Most use this as a marketing trick rather than a philosophy to be passionate about.

As we learn more about food and how it is processed, organic certification provides protection against GMO's and other toxins plus it can ensure safe and healthy harvesting, growing environments. But relying on a product to be organic doesn't guarantee it is 100% safe, effective or healthy.

In my research, I have discovered that, while a product may be organic, it is almost always filled with organic alcohol, preservatives, and fillers that are useless, toxic and/or irritating to the skin. Just because a product claims to have an ingredient like cucumber seed extract, for example, doesn’t mean there aren’t junk ingredients in it also.

It is exactly these extra ingredients that have kept people in dull, aging, and irritated skin for too long!

Back to the idea of organic. While many ingredients are "derived" from some plant, most have been processed to extract and isolate a particular compound of that plant. At Bloom, we choose to use plant oils that naturally contain Vitamin E rather than buying Vitamin E isolated in a laboratory. These processes are less than natural and void of many important nutrients naturally occurring in these plants.

This is found everywhere in the skin care industry. So, our passion is to be a company you can trust to take the guess work out of ingredients by using ONLY plant oils, butters, extracts and honey in their most natural state dense with active nutrients to soothe, restore and revive dull, aging and irritated skin.

Consistency of our products and other things you should know

We love bringing you healthy products you can trust to be safe for you and those you love.

Because we use the freshest, most pure ingredients found in nature, our products are best if used within 6 months of purchase.

Just like fresh organic fruit and veggies, our products are not laced with preservatives or laboratory created ingredients that make it last for years (like the old Twinkie experiment). The internet is filled with products like that. We aren’t that kind of company.

Part of what makes our products so great is that we add only ingredients that soothe, nourish, & protect your skin; no fillers of any kind. You see, most products have water as the primary ingredient (meaning: has the largest quantity). Companies dilute, I mean mix water and emulsifying WAXES to suspend the oil molecules in the water for a creamy consistency.

Why pay for water (which is virtually free) in skin care? Drink it up instead. Learn more under WATER IN SKIN CARE here .

Because of the nature of the ingredients we use, the consistency of it will change based on the temperature in which it is stored. This is a way of proving we don’t use fancy tactics of suspension.

We recommend storing between 65 -80 degrees. If stored below 70 degrees some products will be creamier, if it is stored above 70 degrees, some will be in a liquid state based on the ingredients. Raw shea butter (found in RENEW, RESTORE & HAND) has a melting point of 89 degrees while coconut oil (not the fractioned kind but full-of-nutrient kind) has a melting point of 78 degrees.

Sometimes you may notice a “grainy” feel to our products. It is just our fresh ingredients waiting to be melted by the warmth of your skin. This will in no way effect the purity of the products you will enjoy. Because raw shea butter and coconut oil is solid at room temperature, when exposed to cooler temps below 65 (or left in your car in winter) it can become very hard but melt when stored in a warm place. It's assurance that we don't add fillers nor do we remove the parts of ingredients that become solid. Did you know companies do that?

Should your superfood for skin become liquid (in shipment or otherwise) and you prefer a creamier consistency, place in a sink or bowl of very warm water until completely melted, put in your fridge until solid, and store in the place you will use it most.

Water in skin care

So you might be wondering why we don't add such an amazing ingredient in our products?

Grab a bottle, any from your cabinet, and see if the first ingredient is water. Ingredients are listed in descending order of quantity. That means that the first ingredient makes up the largest percentage of ingredients.

TRANSLATION: WATER IS A HUGE PART OF MOST PRODUCTS (It's cheap and useless to your skin. Drink water to hydrate from the inside out.)

Did you know that water breeds mold and bacteria when it is introduced to another ingredient in the same way a grapefruit will mold on the counter but if you dehydrate it, it will last indefinitely? So, if water is listed, know that a strong PRESERVATIVE is in there somewhere. Remember the term "Parabens" and how we were told to stay away from them? They are preservatives.

You see, the FDA requires a preservative for products containing water because of the mold and bacteria (see below). Because we don't add water, we don't need preservatives! Isn't that great?

By adding water, another ingredient is needed. We all remember learning in science class that oil and water don’t mix, right? Well, they do in the skin care industry, that is, if you add an EMULSIFYING WAX. These waxes do a fancy job of suspending oil molecules in water molecules so you have a thick creamy consistency.

Most emulsifying waxes are made using a cocktail of toxic ingredients as seen here:

Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60, PEG-150 Stearate, and Steareth-20. (here's a hint: if an ingredient has a number in it, it wasn't grown in nature. There are no orange-10 fruits growning on trees in Florida.) Many of these ingredients are by-products of the petroleum industry, and have been tested to be toxic to the human body, and are absorbed into your skin, then enter your bloodstream and stay there a very long time. Yikes.

Above is a VERY simple cream or lotion formula involving just 4 ingredients for the purpose of showing what is contained in an aqueous (containing water) formula.

When diluting something don't you add water? Does that mean adding water to a product would be diluting it? Hmmmm.

It all adds up to a whole lot of nothing. Why pay for nothing?

Water activity is a fancy way of stating how much water a formula contains. Most aqueous (formulas containing water) formulas state water as the first ingredient which means it contains mostly water.

Below you will find the results of an extensive study on water in cosmetics from the Senior Manager of Research and Development Microbiology with Avon Products, Inc.

Don't just take our word for it.

Here is more science-y proof that water does breed mold and bacteria when added to a product which is why we never use it in our formulas.

There you go. Now you know how passionate we are about NOT adding water to any of our formulas.

Additives, toxins, and fillers, oh my!

Through years of research, I realized that the message companies were trying to convey to me was that their products were natural when their ingredient list told me another story. Adding the words “natural” or “naturally derived” meant nothing. It was simply boardroom marketing trying to pull the wool over people's eyes.

Some things to look out for...

Listing ALL the ingredients

Have you ever seen a website where you can see the “KEY INGREDIENTS” of a product? That is code for “the-ingredients-we-want-you-to-know-about-and-not-the-ones-we-don’t.” If a company doesn’t list ALL their ingredients, they must be hiding something, right? In this day and age of healthy clean eating, why wouldn’t they preach their healthy ingredients loud and proud?

There's how much of what?

Ingredients are listed in descending order of quantity. For instance, water is almost always listed first which means that product has more water than any other ingredient. This is important to know because you can see where beneficial/safe/natural ingredients fall in the list. If coconut oil is listed close to the bottom, it likely contains very little coconut oil.

Capitol letters and numbers

Seeing numbers or capital letters in an ingredient’s name is a clue that they are made in a lab. After all, you never go picking for raspberry #5, right?

Petroleum ingredients

Did you know that petroleum ingredients like mineral oil are disguised in names like baby oil, vaseline, or petroleum jelly are everywhere in personal care products? EVERYWHERE.

Here are a few things you should know and why you want to stay clear of these INGREDients.

1. They act like a raincoat on your skin and don't allow your skin to breathe. Skin needs to breathe. Think plastic wrap. Not good.

2. Because skin absorbs stuff, these ingredients are absorbed into the body. Yet, petroleum ingredients are not able to be metabolized by the body so it stays in there a looooong time. Think of the build up that accumulates over a year, 5 or 10 years.

EWG or environmental working group states, "These trace contaminants in petroleum-based ingredients often readily penetrate the skin according to government and industry studies, and their presence in products is not restricted by government safety standards — they are legal at any level."

3. A common condition, called Estrogen Dominance is when a sufferer has a high estrogen ratio with little to no progesterone to balance its effects in the body. Chemicals called Xenoestrogens are one of the biggest culprits. Petroleum ingredients are classified as Xenoestrogens. Yikes.

Other toxic ingredients

Parabens are used as a preservative that are known endocrine disrupters. The ENDOCRINE system includes all glands and the hormones these glands produce. They affect cellular metabolism, reproduction, sexual development, sugar and mineral homeostasis, heart rate, and digestion.

This ingredient can interfere with fetal development, is linked to breast cancer, is considered an immuno-toxin causing a myriad of allergic reations.

Polyethylene glycol

(a.k.a. PEG which is a bi-product of the petroleum industry)

PEG is found in almost EVERYTHING you put on your body, make-up, hair products, lotions, aftershave, deodorants, toothpastes and mouthwashes to name a few. However, you may know it more commonly as an ingredient in antifreeze and brake fluid. It is a known human carcinogen, is highly toxic and can cause brain, liver, and kidney abnormalities, potentially causing breast cancer, leukemia, brain and nervous system cancer, bladder cancer, stomach cancer and pancreatic cancer, as well as Hodgkin’s disease.

One of the reasons manufacturers use PEGs is to help their products absorb deeply into skin. Think of it as a transport system. While this may sound great, PEGs are often contaminated with additional pollutants including ethylene oxide, dioxane, polycyclic aromatic compounds and heavy metals including arsenic, cadmium, lead, nickel, cobalt and iron, according to the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) committee. PEG’s allow pollutants to easily enter your body through the skin’s surface. Yikes.

Genetically Modified Organisms

Commonly known as GMOs, genetically modified crops have been changed at the genetic level using E. Coli or other bacteria. While modification of food at this level is harmful, another, perhaps more toxic are the chemicals used in the growing of these crops. The compounds found in these toxins were also in Agent Orange which caused extreme deformation in children of parents exposed to it. More and more crops are becoming modified.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

SLS is another ingredient found in (mostly) everything that causes bubbles. It is what the FDA uses to irritate skin so they can test another products ability to soothe the irritation. It is a potent carcinogen, is absorbed and plants itself in the blood, liver, heart, and eyes.

Because of it's caustic properties, it breaks down the skin's moisture barrier and strips the skin of naturally-occurring oil called sebum.

Used as a carrier for fragrances, phthalates are found in nail polish, deoderants, lotions, shampoos, and other personal care products. They are highly toxic because they can alter hormone concentrations in breast milk. This is problematic for infants and small children because their systems are still developing and have been tested to cause defects and allergies.

Fragrance, Perfume or Parfum

Petroleum based, these are toxic and carcinogenic and can cause headaches, dizziness, rashes, skin discolorations, respiratory problems, coughing, vomiting, allergic skin reactions, hyperactivity, irritability, and behavioral changes. It is found in many baby care products, as well. Yikes.

We do things differently

When you remove all the fillers and other toxins (water, alcohols, preservatives, perfumes, emulsifying wax, petroleum ingredients, etc.) and replace them with healthy, active, beneficial ingredients, your skin is able to go about the work of healing itself.

Think about what happens when you remove processed food from your diet and replace it with healthy fruits, veggies, quality proteins, nuts, and seeds. You begin to feel better, sleep better, lose weight, your mood improves, etc. Without all the distractions, your body is able to begin the work of healing itself. This is the principal behind Bloom.

Give your skin the tools it needs to be clear, bright, and healthy again (or perhaps, for the first time).

ALL ingredients we use and why

You know the kind. They highlight some great ingredients but leave out all the extras in the hopes that you don't do further inquiry.

We don't play that game.

We are proud to tell you about our COMPLETE ingredient list. EVERY. TIME.

It's on each product page but, below you will find a complete listing of EVERY ingredient we use.

sweet almond oil

People suffering from skin irritations can use Sweet Almond oil topically to reduce inflammation, redness, and itching which makes it a wonderful ingredient to reduce puffiness under eyes. A study conducted by Hamdard University in New Delhi, India, and published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology concludes that application of this oil on the skin not only protects the skin from harmful UV rays but also slows down the aging process. It's a great emollient, is absorbent and rich in vitamin E. It also contains magnesium, calcium, and vitamin D which packs it full of nutrients for our RENEW lip & eye cream.

virgin argan oil

This special oil contains vitamin A, omega 6 & omega 9 fatty acids which provide antioxidant benefits like neutralizing free radicals. Because argan oil reduces skin inflammation and irritation, it helps cure numerous dermatological disorders such as eczema, psoriasis and even acne. It helps restore nutrient content to skin cells and regenerates skin by revitalizing the cell functions that prevent early skin aging due to sun, pollution, stress and smoking.

Argan oil is a highly effective skin moisturizer with anti-microbial properties and helps restore the natural pH of the skin which has been shown to increase elasticity and cause tightening of the skin. Because of it’s sebum regulating action, oil levels on skin are balanced; oily skin becomes less oily and dry skin, less dry. We love the sound of that!

avocado oil

While avocado oil is considered a veggie oil, it is actually a fruit which yields a rich deep penetrating oil, full of vitamins A,D, and E, lecithin and potassium. It is high in sterolins, which are said to reduce age spots, help heal sun damage and scars. This natural oil penetrates the deep layers of skin allowing it to transport nutrients to the dermis for increased effectiveness. Because avocado oil has amazing emollient properties, it is ideal for mature skin while also relieving dryness and itching associated with psoriasis, eczema or other skin irritations.

In 2001, a study published in Dermatologyprovided evidence that avocado oil could be a long-term topical therapy for psoriasis. Plus, France has given avocado oil Rx status because of it's ability to counter the negative affects of arthritis. Now, this was when taken internally but remember, your skin absorbs what is put on it. Woohoo!

virgin chia seed oil

Chia seed oil is a super food for skin because of it’s amazing levels of Omega-3 fatty acids, protein, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. We use this wonderful ingredient because it aids in soothing inflammation, smoothing fine lines and improves skin elasticity. Chia seeds contain more Omega-3's than any other plant source, including flaxseed which helps to maintain moisture levels and provides a healthy protective layer to skin while relieving irritation, dryness and peeling.

black cumin seed oil

Black cumin contains loads of vitamins A, B, and C, along with minerals like calcium, potassium, magnesium, and zinc which helps skin recover and repair itself. In addition to fighting the bacteria that causes acne, black cumin seed oil also fights against other types of bacteria and fungus, keeping the face free of harmful bacteria. Black cumin seed oil is rich in essential fatty acids that provide deep, lasting moisture for skin. With it’s anti-inflammatory properties, it is a wonderful addition to soothe acne.

frankincense oil

Frankincense is more than a gift Jesus was brought at his birth. It has been shown to tone and tighten skin while simultaneously replacing old or dying cells with new, healthy ones. It’s astringent properties reduces the appearance of wrinkles while it makes scars on skin fade at a much faster rate. This is great news for those with cystic acne.

pink grapefruit oil

Grapefruit is an essential oil that can protect skin from UV damage. Since most visible signs of skin aging are the direct result of sun damage, this is one more layer of defense to add to your skin-care regimen. Grapefruit is rich in anti oxidants. Grapefruit is known to be a purifier of congested, oily and acne prone skin by cleaning out dirt, oil, & dead skin cells from pores while also having anti-bacterial properties to help combat problematic bacteria on the skin which causes the skin to be irritated. It also helps to keep natural ingredients fresh & helps slow oxidation of oils.

grapefruit seed oil

Not to be confused with GSE or Grapefruit Seed Extract, this is a rare oil pressed from the seeds of the grapefruit and boy, is it packed with nutrition.

Grapefruit seed oil has powerful antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. It has been shown to help regenerate skin cells and aids in removing dead skin cells from pores yet in the most gentle and natural way. As it hydrates, it helps to reduce wrinkles, dryness and improves skin elasticity.

With high levels of Vitamin C, GSO is a strong anticeptic and has been tested to help combat large pores, dark spots and other skin blemishes.

raw manuka honey

Honey is more than a yummy addition to your morning coffee or tea routine.

Manuka Honey is found in New Zealand where the bees get their nectar from the Melaleuca (or Tea Tree) plant. That means the honey carries the anti-bacterial properties found in Tea Tree Oil, more than 75 times the amount compared to regular raw honey. Manuka honey has been tested to attack the strep and staph bacteria which are known to be resistant to many antibiotics. It's that powerful. The antioxidants in honey help make the skin look younger, smooth and hydrated. The enzymes in raw Manuka Honey clarify skin and keep pores clear while increasing healing and tissue regeneration. The combination of raw Manuka Honey, grapefruit and tea tree oil is one of the most healing ways to wash acne prone skin. Gluconic acid, a mild alpha hydroxy acid found in honey, has been tested to brighten complexion, even skin tone and lighten scars and age spots.

lavender essential oil

Essential oils like lavender nourish and soothe the skin. Lavender Oil produces a calming effect, aids in regenerating the skin, & can minimize scar tissue. Lavender reduces inflammation, has antibacterial properties & enhances blood circulation. It also adds a beautiful scent that is such a treat when applied, while being very subtle. Even those who are sensitive to smells will enjoy Lavender!

moringa seed oil

We are so excited to offer moringa seed oil for it’s antibacterial, antioxidant, nourishing and anti-aging properties. The nutrients in moringa seed oil helps slow the skin aging process, lightens skin tone while nourishing and protecting the skin from free radical damage. This quick absorbing seed oil has 90 nutrients, 18 essential amino acids, chlorophylls, omega-3 fatty acids and anti-inflammatory properties.

meadowfoam oil

Cold-pressed virgin meadowfoam oil is wonderfully emollient and high in vitamin E. It helps to retain moisture on the skin while adding a protective barrier to the outer layer of skin.

It's anti-oxidant properties help to repair sun damage, firm the skin and reduce inflammation. This is great news for those with inflammation in the form of acne, eczema or other skin irritations.

Meadowfoam is a renewable crop and is native to northern California, southern Oregon, Vancouver Island, and British Columbia. Plus, it requires minimal (if any) pesticides to grow which makes it great for the environment.

In addition to all these benefits, meadowfoam seed oil is a highly stable oil which helps to make other ingredients stable. Since we never add fillers, we get excited about using natural ingredients that benefit the skin while helping the product stay fresh naturally! Yippee!

extra virgin olive oil

We all know that Olive oil is healthy to eat but do you know how nourishing it is on your skin? It is closer in chemical structure to Sebum, the skin’s natural oil, than any other plant oil. It has regenerative power that can stimulate the healing process. Because of Squalene in Olive oil, it has shown to increase elasticity of skin thus preventing sagging and leaving skin firmly toned with a youthful glow.

Olive oil can be used to soothe and heal skin irritations. Because it is rich in healthy fats and phenolic antioxidant vitamin E along with squalene and oleic acidas, Olive oil can help in removing free radicals as well as repair the damage done by exposure to sun. The antioxidants present in olive oil, along with the vitamin E, help in preventing cell degeneration in your skin, thus helping to prevent premature aging.

oil of oregano

We have used this oil topically and orally for years in our home as a natural antibiotic to treat all kinds of flus, cold, infections, bug bites and skin inflammation. We just LOVE it! Oregano oil has powerful antibacterial, antiviral, and anti fungal properties even killing parasites, infections and colds. It loves to destroy all kinds of fungi and yeast. Because of these amazing properties, it works wonders on acne, eczema and even psoriasis! This oil penetrates deep into the pores of the skin eating away at the bacteria that causes cystic acne. The only precaution with this oil (the only ingredient we use that has any precaution) is that it is NOT suitable for infants, nursing or pregnant women as it can act as a slight blood thinner. The risk is so tiny, yet still a risk. Enjoy the amazing results from oil of oregano on your toughest skin problems.

pomegranate seed oil

The oil from the seed of this beautiful fruit aids in revitalizing dull or mature skin, assists with wrinkles and soothes minor skin irritations. It has natural anti-bacterial properties, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and is a powerful antioxidant. Several recent studies have shown that pomegranate seed oil promotes regeneration and strengthening of the epidermis (outer layer of skin).

pumpkin seed oil

Pumpkin seed oil is packed full of antioxidants, enzymes, iron, zinc, vitamins C and K and essential fatty acids. Throughout our lives we are exposed to free radicals through polluted air, environmental toxins, stress, and less than perfect diets. Those cause damage to our skin cells. Antioxidants like those in pumpkin protect our skin cells by neutralizing free radicals. That’s good news for us because pumpkin seed oil helps to rebuild skin structure while preventing wrinkles. Essential fatty acids help regulate proper skin sebum (oil) production, which makes it useful for both oily/acne-prone skin and dry skin. This oil is dense with nutrients which is why we were so excited to offer it in REVIVE.

sunflower seed oil

First, our SSO is organic (but we can't put that on the label), expeller pressed and kept at a cool temperature to maintain tons of nutrients like proteins, which are vital for building and repairing tissues. It is very emollient which is the best news for parched skin.

Being rich in nutrients and antioxidants, it is wonderfully effective against acne, eczema, inflammation, and general skin irritations. Sunflower seed oil contains high levels of Vitamin E, which is essential for protecting skin cells from damage done by ultraviolet light from the sun. Vitamin E improves the appearance and health of your skin by repairing scars and smoothing of existing wrinkles. Because of it’s high antioxidant count and the presence of vitamins A, C and D, sunflower seed oil helps to prevent premature aging.

raw shea butter

Shea butter comes from the nuts of the shea tree [also known as the karite tree] which grows wild in Central and Western Africa, where it has been used as skin care for centuries because of it’s healing properties. Shea Butter absorbs quickly & is great for stretch marks, dry skin, cracked heels and more. It has also been clinically proven to have anti-aging properties, protection against inflammation and rapid healing for burns to minimize scarring. This nut is high in vitamins A and E and minerals. If you have a small cut or burn, immediately apply soothing shea butter to it. Shea butter also helps alleviate the pain from sunburns. For those with dry skin, raw shea butter may be the most naturally moisturizing product you will ever use. In addition, Shea Butter has natural sunscreen properties and anti-inflammatory agents. Regular users of pure, unrefined Shea Butter notice softer, smoother, healthier skin. Shea Butter has also been shown to help with skin conditions and irritations, skin allergies, fungal infections, blemishes, wrinkles, scars, scrapes, and more. The Shea Butter we use is produced using fair trade practices and Organic standards.

tamanu oil

We are so excited to offer tamanu oil as it is one of the most effective agents in promoting the formation of new skin tissue, which excels wound healing and promotes healthy rejuvenation of skin. It is a light oil that penetrates deep into the skin, nourishing and reducing inflammation from deep inside. Tamanu oils has been studied since the early 1900's for it's amazing ability to heal many skin irritations like acne, eczema, psoriasis and others.

Can you see why we are so excited to share this beautiful oil with you?

tea tree oil

Tea tree has so many anti-viral, anti-candida and anti-fungal properties which is great news for those with acne since acne is often caused by an over-growth of yeast in the body. One study found tea tree oil to be just as effective as benzoyl peroxide but without the negative side effects like redness and irritation. Tea tree oil is also used to treat minor wounds, encourage healing, and prevent infection. This makes it an essential part of your own first aid kit! Because tea tree oil can kill bacteria, applying topical tea tree oil to acne lesions has been thought to destroy Propionibacterium acnes, the skin-dwelling bacteria involved in the development of acne. Can you see why we are so excited to offer tea tree oil in our WASH?

Most soaps on the market contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS). It is arguably the most irritating ingredient used in personal care products, and is in everything (toothpaste, shampoos, cleansers, etc). In the cleaning industry SLS is used in garage floor cleaners, engine degreasers, car-wash soaps, etc. It is very corrosive and readily attacks greasy surfaces which is what makes it such an effective cleanser but at what cost?

Sodium lauryl sulfate is used throughout the world for clinical testing as a skin irritant. Laboratories use it to irritate skin on test animals and humans so that they may then test healing agents to see how effective they are on soothing the irritated skin.

A study at the University of Georgia Medical College, indicated that SLS penetrated into the eyes as well as brain, heart, liver, etc., and showed long-term retention in the tissues. The study also indicated that SLS penetrated young children's eyes and prevented them from developing properly and caused cataracts to develop In adults.
SLS may cause hair loss by attacking the follicle. Classified as a drug in bubble baths, it removes the protective layer and dries skin by stripping the protective lipids from the surface so it can't effectively regulate moisture.

Another extremely serious problem is the connection of SLS with nitrate contamination. SLS reacts with many types of ingredients used in skin products and forms nitrosomines (nitrates). Nitrates are potential cancer-causing carcinogenics. Because of the alarming penetrating power of SLS, large amounts of these known carcinogens are absorbed through the skin into the body. A variation of SLS is SODIUM LAURYL ETHER SULFATE or SLES). It exhibits many of the same characteristics and is a higher-foaming variation of SLS.

The oil that is naturally occuring on your skin is called sebum. While you've probably never thought about how it benefits you, it has an important job helping to protect your skin from environmental contamination, bacteria and yeast around us, and keeping our skin oils regulated. See, that's a big job.

Oil cleansing uses the belief that cleansers strip the skin of those important natural oils, leaving the oil production of skin imbalanced which can lead to clogging pores, bacteria growth from lack of protection, and parched skin. Thus, oils in certain combinations are used to breakdown the bad oils clogging pores and kill naturally occuring bacteria which essentially causes skin to detox and heal itself.

Oil dissolves oil.

One of the most basic principals of chemistry is that “like dissolves like.” The best way to breakdown sebum/oil, is by using another oil similar in composition.

Here's what is looks like:

  1. Warm water opens pores and can loosen the gunk clogging them.
  2. Massaging a plant oil similar in composition to sebum helps to dissolve the oils and impurities stuck in pores.
  3. Rinsing your skin helps to wash away the dissolved oils and impurities, leaving your skin refreshed.

By using the right oils, you can cleanse your pores of dirt and bacteria naturally, gently and effectively, while replacing the dirty oil with beneficial oils that heal, protect and nourish your skin. When done properly and consistently, the Oil Cleansing Method can clear the skin from issues like oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, blackheads, whiteheads and other problems caused by mild to moderate acne, while leaving your skin healthy, balanced and properly moisturized.

Many use castor oil when using the oil cleansing method. We have found that much too drying so, we use other oils with wonderfully beneficial nutrients.

Care for Acne

We get it, which it why we do things different {as you read above} and the results are different, too.
This will be a process but stick with it. I know you will love the results.

Week 1-2

Use RELIEF as your daily moisturizer and cleanser exclusively because our products have jealousy issues.

See more on that below.

Week 3

Add WASH as your facial cleanser and continue using RELIEF as your moisturizer for face and body.

Week 4

It's now time to add SPOT to your daily routine by applying on the affected areas. SPOT is meant as a spot (get it) treatment not for all over you skin. It may sting a bit when applied. This lets you know it is helping to combat infection which can cause inflammation. If it feels uncomfortable, rinse off and try again at a later time. Although made with all high quality non-GMO plant oils, they pack a powerful punch at infection and inflammation which is exactly why you are going to love it.

If you can keep SPOT with you and apply it several times per day to affected areas, it will speed up the process.

See products below.

WEEK 1-2

Use RELIEF as your moisturizer and cleanser, exclusively (learn about our products jealously issues below). This is an important step in getting your skin oils balanced and getting your skin's pH at an acidic level which helps protect it. This is all scientific terms for "get your skin healthy again."

As far as alkalinity, for optimal healthy your body should be alkaline while your skin should be slightly acidic.

Disclaimer: We are not doctors nor do we play one on this website. Any claims we make have not been tested by the FDA. If you struggle with any of these irritations, seek the care of your medical or naturopathic doctor.

PLEASE NOTE: While some of our products can help treat these issues topically, many are a sign that something in the gut is off kilter. Thus, along with topical treatments, also seek help to get the gut in order by treating your condition internally.

Do you struggle with any of the following skin irritations?

  • Staph infections

  • Yeast infections

  • Hailey's Hailey's Disease

  • Wounds not healing properly

We are thrilled to offer help. Below you will find information based on customer feedback and our own research on these irritations.

For most of these, it is the bacteria, fungus, or yeast that causes issues. But we have something for that.

Over the years, we have received feedback from customers saying NOURISH and RELIEFwork as natural Yeast infection remedies.

Also, in the line of yeast issues, many nursing mothers have used NOURISH topically to help with Thrush. You won't need to worry about your little one ingesting the tiny bit of NOURISH applied topically to the breast because we ONLY use healthy plant oils.

A Staph infection is a serious issue so, you should seek medical attention. Using SPOTtopically on the affected area will help kill the bacteria but this should be along with treatments for dealing with Staph internally. Also, raw manuka honey we use in WASH has been tested to kill staph and strep bacteria. Which is just one of the reason we like it so much.

Do you struggle with a wound that doesn't seem to be healing properly? Often times this is caused by an infection of some sort as seen by a red ring around the wound. Apply SPOTseveral times a day to help attack the infection and help reduce inflammation that is preventing healing.

CAUTION: SPOT will most likely sting in an open cut or wound but that means it is working. If it stings too much, rinse off and apply when skin has scabbed over.

Hailey's Hailey's Disease is a genetic skin disease that has a lot to do with a fungus. While this needs to be dealt with internally, applying SPOT topically prevents bacteria growth that can cause a secondary infection from a HH outbreak. Apply a few times a day to constantly help attack problematic bacteria and fungus.

Keeping the site dry is very important as moisture seems to exacerbate the problem. CLEAN helps to keep the site clean and dry. NOURISH is NOT recommended on the irritation because it causes the area to be moist (remember, dry is what you want on the inflammed spot).

about nourish

Since NOURISH was the product that launched Bloom, it holds a special place in our hearts and we know it will be your favorite too!

Why IS NOURISH so imporTant?

Here's the truth. NOURISH will not heal your skin but by removing all the extra fillers and toxic ingredients and feeding your skin this superfood, your skin will begin to heal itself so that hydration and radiance can be restored (and we aren't just talking those with irritated skin). This isn't one of those bandaid-the-problem products.

Just like feeding your body, superfoods allow your skin to work at healing itself, even if healing means getting hydrated as never before. Make sense? We have seen this first hand.

So rather than spend your money on products that just mask the problem (and are filled with toxic and cheap ingredients), get your skin refreshed.

How can oils cleanse?

Oils cling to and desolve other oils which means they pull off the yuck your skin has accumulated while adding soothing hydration, cleaning out gunk in pores and leaving skin radiant.

The healthy plant oils and extracts we use are the perfect combination to balance your skin's pH and oil levels. NOURISH is wonderful for oily, dry or combination skin. While your body should be more alkaline, your skin should be acidic to protect it from the elements.

Click HERE  then go to the OIL CLEANSING METHOD tab.

What are the different uses of NOURISH?

There are lots of them.

  • Body moisturizer - while you can apply NOURISH at any time, your skin absorbs nutrients most effectively after a warm shower or bath. Because of this, we recommend applying on the body and face during a bath or shower, while still wet but before toweling off. Since your skin is warm, your pores should be open to receive the nutrients of NOURISH. A bit will wash down the drain, some on your towel. No worries. Most of it in where it should be, hydrating your skin.
  • Hydrating face cleanser - gently massage NOURISH onto wet warm skin. Allow NOURISH to do it's work, rinse (although you will still feel it on your skin, which is good), towel off and apply RESTORE or REVIVE .
  • Scalp treatment (even on dandruff) - apply liberally on the scalp, massage in, and let it penetrate for 15 minutes (or while you sleep) then follow with your normal hair cleansing routine.
  • Soothing hydration for bath - add to the flow of water when filling bath, soak then enjoy super soft skin.
  • Moisturizer for african hair to hydrate and prevent breakage.
  • Softens cuticles - gently message into cuticles to soften.
  • Eye make up remover - NOURISH will also remove most eye make ups!
  • Soothes burns - apply on any burn (sun, wind, heat) to soothe and relieve pain.
  • Massage oil - tested by professionals.
  • Shave cream - use NOURISH to shave while keeping your legs moisturized.

who are we?

I'm Molly, owner and formulator at Bloom.

But first of all, I'm a wife, homeschooling mother of 5 sons and skin care scientist, only the natural sort (of course) as well as a child of the loving Creator of this big, beautiful, crazy world.

My husband and I have 5 sons, all teenagers. Bloom is a family affair. Several of our sons help in one capacity or another.

The CEO (aka my husband of 22 years) of Bloom is a talented real estate developer in our community. He is artistic, creative, loves to laugh and a man of great integrity. His dream has been to create communities that encourage walkability, relationships, and community spaces, a place where you can work, live, grocery shop and have coffee without having to get in your car. This dream is a reality and our Bloom Naturals "corporate headquarters" is located in a great community called Celadon. You can check it out at It's pretty cool.

Home is where we love spending time with our boys who are growing up way too fast. Life with boys is filled with much busyness, laughter and lots of adventures. These sons are more dear to us than we could have dreamed. But sheesh, does time fly! If you have little ones at home, curl up with them and read a good book to them. Time is precious!

Having them home with me all day has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Of course, there are days when I want to resign to which my husband says, "the good news is you can’t be fired but the bad news is you can’t resign." Our boys are creative, love soccer, playing outdoors, hunting, and building things.

I love all things natural and healthy like feeding my family great wholesome food. I love hearth bread still warm from the oven, cinnamon tea on a snowy afternoon, sitting in the sun puddles in winter, snuggling up with our boys, reading stories of old and the inspired Word of God, gardening, farmers markets, raw milk, screen porches, neighbors, laughter, hand crafts, smiles and "sister day" at Nana & Papa's on Lake Michigan during the summers.

I love beauty that is natural, not hidden. More than outward, I believe that what make women stunningly beautiful is a heart for Jesus, that their peace is resting their life on the shoulders of the one who sees them as a precious ruby. Do you dare to believe that? Then go live like it. That is true beauty!

our mission

My mission {and passion} is to help people get the skin they have always wanted by using ONLY the freshest non-GMO plant oils, butter and manuka honey. That's it.

While many of our ingredients are certified organic, in order for us to label our products as certified organic, all manufacturing needs to be in a certified organic facility. We are mindful about knowing what EXACTLY goes into each and every bottle or jar we sell.

Trusting a third party manufacturer to share the same passion for the purity of a product as we do, isn't something we want to chance. So, using the freshest, most pure ingredients without organic certification, allows us to provide you with the best skin care at an amazing value while keeping our hands and eyes on what exact ingredients are contained in each batch of our healthy products.

Isn't that refreshing? We think so.

I invite you to experience something new.

We know it can be difficult to sift through all the products and make sense of what would best suit your skin so, we have selected the following groupings to make it easy.

We have remedies for everyone.
